Sometimes, it’s a random text. A shared glance. A friend introducing you to another friend who just gets you—instantly, deeply, unexplainably.

That’s what happened when I met Leah. Through our mutual Australian soul sister (yes, her name is also Lisa—because of course it is), I was introduced to someone who didn’t feel new at all. She felt familiar. Like I had known her across lifetimes.

We bonded quickly over things that most people avoid talking about—grief, cemeteries, organ donation, and the afterlife. Not exactly small talk. But that’s what made it so real. So safe. So sacred.

Over time, we’ve laughed, danced, cried, and walked through the dark and the light together. And somewhere along the way, one “yes” led to another... and now we’re co-creating something bigger than us:✨ La Vida Sagrada—a sacred retreat for women during Día de los Muertos.

Here’s what I’ve learned through friendships like this:You don’t have to chase.You don’t have to force.You just have to say yes when the right people show up.

That one connection might lead to the next… and before you know it, you’re surrounded by women who see you, honor you, and walk beside you—not in front or behind.

Leah and I are different in many ways, but the same in all the ways that matter. We love dance, the ocean, movement, spirituality, travel, and helping people remember who they are.

We both lost our fathers and feel deeply connected to the spirit world. We both believe healing doesn’t have to look perfect—and joy and grief can exist in the same sacred breath.

And we both knew… this was something we needed to share.
