I Declare! Why Statements Are More Powerful than Questions (Episode 34)

Each woman carries her own story of becoming — When we sit together in truth, the noise quiets and clarity finds us.
Each woman carries her own story of becoming — When we sit together in truth, the noise quiets and clarity finds us.

You know what nobody tells you about transformation? It’s lonely.

You start shedding who you thought you were — the friendships that once fit, the routines that kept you small — and suddenly you’re standing in the hallway between who you were and who you’re becoming.

It’s uncomfortable, confusing, and sometimes even painful. But here’s the thing, love: that in-between space isn’t where you lose yourself — it’s where you remember yourself.

When Everything Feels Uncertain

A few years ago, I was sitting alone in a beige hotel room after a long flight — one of those in-between nights where everything felt up in the air.The hum of the air conditioner, the faint city noise outside, the smell of jet-lag coffee that had gone cold — all of it mirrored the static inside my head.

I kept circling the same thoughts:What am I doing? Where do I belong? Did I make the right choices?

Out of sheer frustration, I opened my journal and wrote:Stop asking. Start declaring.

Then, slowly, I began to write truths that felt fragile at first but real enough to stand on:“I’m exactly where I need to be.”“I trust the timing of my life.”“I’m calling in friendships that meet me where I’m going.”

By the third line, my breath softened. My shoulders dropped.I didn’t find an answer — I found an anchor.

The Moment That Changed Everything

Months later, on a beach in Belize during one of my retreats, a woman looked at me with tears in her eyes and said,“Lis, I feel lost. I keep asking what I’m supposed to do next.”

I smiled, handed her my pen, and said:

“Start writing the truth you want to believe — and keep going until your heart catches up.Let it become your truth.Let your words become the bridge between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming.Put your truth on paper, even if your mind still argues — your soul already knows.”

That was the moment I realized that we don’t write to figure life out — we write to remember that we already know.

From Anxiety to Sovereignty

We’re taught to chase clarity, but real peace isn’t found in the mind’s questions — it’s born in the heart’s knowing.

Your brain hates unanswered questions. It’s wired to solve problems, and when it can’t, it loops. That loop? It’s anxiety.

But when you speak in statements — “I am safe,” “I am learning,” “I am becoming” — your nervous system finally exhales.Your heart slows, your intuition returns, and your energy shifts from confusion to calm.

That’s sovereignty. Not control, not perfection — but calm leadership of self.

When you stop asking for clarity and start declaring truth, your signal gets clear. And when your energy clears, your people, your opportunities, and your next aligned step can finally find you.

How to Practice This

Grab your journal, or take a mindful breath if you’re listening on the go.

Write down three questions looping in your mind. Then, one by one, flip each question into a statement of truth:

💭 “What if I never find my people?” → “I’m attracting connections that feel real and nourishing.”💭 “When will I feel fulfilled again?” → “I’m creating a life that fills me from the inside out.”💭 “What if it’s too late?” → “My timing is divine; I’m right on schedule.”

That subtle shift you feel in your chest? That’s your nervous system remembering that you’re safe — that you’re right on time — and that you are, in fact, exactly where you need to be.

Declarations to Anchor Your Energy

Say these out loud — own them.

  • I am the calm in my own storm.

  • I lead my life with certainty and grace.

  • I am magnetic to aligned friendships, adventure, and opportunity.

  • I create clarity everywhere I go — because I am clarity.

  • I am sovereign, steady, and ready for what’s next.

Take a deep breath in.Exhale slowly. That’s the sound of coming home to yourself.

Journal Prompts

  • Where in my life am I asking for answers instead of declaring truth?

  • What am I ready to believe about myself now?

  • What does calm feel like in my body, and how can I return to it more often?

Final Sip

If life feels uncertain right now, good.It means you’re growing. You’re shedding what no longer fits so that something better can find its way in.

When you stop waiting for clarity and start declaring calm, you become the woman who leads her life — not the one waiting for it to begin.

Stop asking. Start declaring. That’s how you reclaim your calm, clarity, and power.
